AboutCity of Refuge
A non-denominational Christian church in New Orleans, gathered around joyful worship, prayer, biblical teaching, and fellowship.
Who we are
City of Refuge Christian Center is a Spirit-led, non-denominational church. We gather each Sunday to worship God with gladness, to hear His Word taught clearly, and to pray for one another.
Whether you are young or old, have followed Jesus for years, or are just beginning to ask questions, you are welcome here. You don't need to have everything figured out to belong.
Our name
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
Psalm 46:1
In the Old Testament, God set apart cities of refuge: places where anyone in need could run and find safety (Joshua 20).
It is our prayer that City of Refuge Christian Center would be exactly that for New Orleans. A place of refuge for anyone who needs one.
Calvin Hinton Sr.& Susan Hinton
City of Refuge Christian Center is led by Pastors Calvin Hinton Sr. and Susan Hinton, a husband and wife who serve the church together.
Every Christmas, Pastor Susan creates an imaginative celebration for the church, with themed decorations, props, and storytelling, and the birth of Jesus at the heart of it. The Wonder of Christmas
